A stabbing is under investigation in a Thorold neighbourhood that is getting a lot of attention lately for all the wrong reasons.
The Facebook page 'Thorold - A City Being Destroyed By Students' voicing frustration after a stabbing on Winterberry Blvd last night.
The post saying that residents in the area could hear terrorizing screams, and residents are afraid for their safety.
Niagara Police say they were called at 7:30pm to the intersection of Tuliptree Rd and Winterberry Blvd where they found a man in his 20's with a stab wound.
He was taken to local hospital then transferred to an out of town hospital with serious injuries.
A 23 year old woman is facing two charges following the altercation.
She is being held in custody pending a bail hearing today.
Police say the matter is being investigated as a domestic disturbance so names will not be released.
Winterberry Blvd. has been in the news following a massive student homecoming party.
Thorold Council addressed the issue by supporting plans to licence residential rentals.
The new by-law will come before council November 25th and is expected to pass.
A staff report recommends that two by-law officers start cracking down on infractions come January when the by-law is expected to come into effect.
