As people in Niagara-On-The-Lake prepare to welcome Stephen Fry for a stint at the Shaw Festival, the British comedian and actor has revealed he is suffering from prostate cancer.
60 year old Fry announced via a YouTube video that he has been fighting the disease for the last two months, and underwent surgery in January to remove the prostate.
He described the cancer as aggressive.
"So far as we know, it's all been got," he assured fans. "For the moment I am fit and well and happy and I just wanted to let you know because rumours had started to swell."
The actor is known for his work as a presenter for QI as well as hundreds of credits on stage and screen.
