The Pathstone Foundation continuing with its ability to book top speakers for its annual Hope Award Gala.
Steven Page, former frontman for the Barenaked Ladies, will bring his story of fighting depression to the June 1st fundraiser at Fallsview Casino.
Page tells 610 CKTB's Tim Denis, he finally figured out he had been struggling with mental health issues from a young age.
He says he had suicidal thoughts as young as 6 or 7.
Page says during his appearance at the gala, he will tell his story and play some songs to illustrate his point.
He adds the songs he plays are familiar and many people later say, they didn't know that was what that song was about.
Past speakers include actor Richard Dreyfuss, singer Chantal Kreviazuk, and former Canadian news anchor Peter Mansbridge.
