Over 300 striking workers are walking the picket lines in St.Catharines.
Strike Captain Rod Dunnett tells CKTB News 350 workers at Thompson Products Employees Association (TPEA) on Louth Street walked off the job at midnight after their contract expired.
Dunnett says negotiations continue this hour with their employer, THK Rhythm Automotive Canada.
The workers make linkage and suspension for auto companies such as Ford, GM, BMW and Chrysler.
Dunnett is hoping that both sides can reach a deal so everyone can go back to work.
The striking workers are holding up traffic flowing into the building, but they are not impacting traffic on Louth Street.
