Air Transat has apologized for the discomfort 336 passengers endured for hours Monday on a runway in Ottawa, but isn't taking all of the blame.
Passenger Maryanne Zehil says the flight from Belgium to Montreal was diverted to Ottawa because of storms and passengers were forced to stay onboard for six hours in uncomfortably hot conditions.
She says power was out for a time, there was no air conditioning, food and water ran out -- adding water didn't arrive until one person with breathing issues called 9-1-1.
Air Transat claims storms caused more than two-dozen planes from several airlines to divert to Ottawa, leaving a fuel shortage and airport ground crews unable to replenish water or provide stairs for passengers to disembark.
But an Ottawa airport spokeswoman tells CTV News the flight crew never gave the order to deplane.
