Students at three Toronto high schools are planning to walk out of class this afternoon, calling on the province to take more action on allegations of sexual abuse and misconduct by teachers.
Earlier this week, the province made changes to automatically revoke teachers licences if they're found guilty of groping or sexually touching students.
Funding will also be provided to the victims for therapy and counselling.
But students say more is needed to deal with teachers guilty of sexual harassment, intimidation or sexualized behaviour.
Their petition has received 17,000 signatures.
The walkout takes place this afternoon beginning at 1:30 p.m.
