Thousands of high school students across Ontario, including Niagara, are expected to walk out of class this afternoon to protest the Ford government's education changes.
The demonstration is set for 1:15 p.m.
The students are up in arms over changes to high school classroom sizes as well as changes to OSAP for university aged students.
Education Minister Lisa Thompson responded to the walkout yesterday, saying a walkout is not the right forum to voice concerns about the changes. "I need to remind the teachers and our school boards that schools are a place of learning and we owe it to our parents to ensure that our students are safe, and that they're learning every day."
Organizers are using #studentssayno and #cutshurtkids to spread their message on social media.
