A Brantford man has been arrested and charged after a wild attempt to evade police including two attempted vehicle thefts, driving the wrong way on the QEW, and fleeing on foot.
It started around midnight as members of the Halton Regional Police chased a vehicle along Queensway Drive in Burlington.
The pursuit was called off as the driver began making dangerous manoeuvres in his attempt to evade capture.
A short time later, the suspect tried to steal the personal vehicle of an employee at a car dealership.
When he couldn't get the keys from the employee, the driver fled the scene in his original vehicle, driving the wrong way on the QEW at Walkers Line.
He was involved in a crash on the highway before fleeing to a nearby hotel on foot.
Once there, he stole the keys of a hotel employee but never made it to the vehicle, instead opting to flee on foot again.
Eventually, members of the K9 team tracked the suspect to a bushy area and made an arrest.
29 year old Nathan Howes is charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to comply with recognizance, robbery, and failing to stop after an accident.
