Hamilton police say one of the persons wanted for the 2017 murders of Mila Barberi and Angelo Musitano is now confirmed dead.
Police say they have recently received confirmation from Mexican authorities that a body recovered in a vehicle abandoned at the side of a rural road in Mexico in June is that of Micheal Cudmore.
Members of the Hamilton Police Service have been in contact with Cudmore’s family to assist them in repatriating Cudmore’s body and to ascertain the facts surrounding his death.
They had not heard from Cudmore since he fled to Mexico in May 2017.
It is the investigator's belief that Cudmore had joined Daniele Ranieri, also a person of interest in both murders, in Mexico.
In March 2018, Ranieri was found murdered and his body left in a ditch in Mexico.
Police however continue to search for another suspect in the double slaying.
Daniel Tomassetti of Ancaster also fled to Mexico and has yet to be found.
Investigators have been advised by the Tomassetti family they do not know where he is but are aware that he is scared.
If you have any information that you believe could assist Police with the investigation into this crime you are asked to contact Detective Sergeant Peter Thom by calling 905-546-2458.
