A false alarm in Niagara Falls, after police were called in to investigate a suspicious package.
The package was found yesterday afternoon in the Victoria Avenue and Simcoe Street area.
Out of what police call an abundance of caution, the intersection was closed to traffic while the Explosive Disposal Unit was called in to investigate.
Police say after it was determined the package was not a risk to the public, it was disposed of accordingly.
The intersection was re-opened about three and a half hours later.
