Earlier this week, Canadian air traffic controllers sent pizza to their American counterparts hit by the US government shut down, but a new site now lets Canadians buy federal employees a beer.
The site, Pay It Furloughed, hopes to spread some cheer to government employees who are turning to food banks to feed their families as the shutdown reaches its 28th day.
So far, just shy of 3,000 pints have been paid for and only 500 have been cashed in.
According to the website, "Donate to the beer fund now. Stressed out federal employees and contractors, who are furloughed or working without pay, score free liquid therapy. Small businesses hit hard by the shutdown get some relief. And you feel awesome. It’s a win-win-win."
