A Niagara veteran leaves today for Sydney, Australia to compete in the Invictus Games.
Retired Sergeant Richard "Dean" Irvine, who was injured in Bosnia 14 years ago, will compete in power lifting and wheelchair rugby.
Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan and Veterans Affairs Minister Seamus O'Regan will bid farewell to Team Canada at a ceremony at 4:00 this afternoon.
The team consists of 17 serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces and 22 veterans, all of whom acquired an illness or a physical or mental health injury while serving for Canada.
