A 16 year old Lincoln boy is in hot water accused of faking an abduction attempt.
Police say the teen claimed an armed man had tried to drag him into a vehicle yesterday morning in the King and 19th Street area in Jordan.
Police urged schools to put safety protocols in place and asked members of the public to take precautions.
After locating a stolen 2004 Black Chevy Avalanche, nearby, with damage to the front passenger side bumper, police determined there was no threat and advised schools to lift their lockdowns.
Police say they believe the teen stole the vehicle from Haldimand County on Monday and on the same day got gas at a St. Catharines gas station and left without paying.
The boy is facing three charges including public mischief, theft of a motor vehicle and theft under $5,000.
