Temporary fencing placed at the Port Dalhousie piers earlier this summer will be removed.
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans confirmed this week that the high water levels in Lake Ontario did not do additional damage to the piers and those sections can re-open.
The temporary fencing was installed in April of this year on the west pier near the Lakeside Park Pavillion, and on the east pier near the Dalhousie Yacht Club.
Work started earlier this week, and should be done in the next couple of days.
Fencing that was installed in April 2015 when the piers were closed will remain.
