A fixture on Queen Street in Niagara on the Lake will be closing its doors.
Ten Thousand Villages, a trendsetting fair trade store, will close at the end of May.
The Mennonite Central Committee Canada, which runs the chain of stores, announcing on its website, it would be closing corporate operations including 10 company stores, its head office and distribution centre.
The company adding that " in spite of all our best efforts, we have been unable to achieve the level of sales that would continue to provide us with the ability to operate a sustainable business model.”
The Ten Thousand Villages store in Port Colborne will remain open.
