It's too little, too late for parents fighting to save a trio of rural schools in Niagara.
The province announcing yesterday school boards will not be able to put any more schools up for closure, while the government overhauls the way boards consider schools for potential closure.
Education Minister Mitzie Hunter says the overhaul is in an effort to strengthen rural and northern education.
But she says it does not cover any schools already under consideration or recommended for closure.
So that means, the DSBN can go ahead with its plan to close South Lincoln High School, Beamsville District and Grimsby Secondary and build a new central high school in their place.
