Today and tomorrow, over 50 volunteers will be filling backpacks to help kids in need heading back to school across Niagara.
The United Way's 17th annual Backpack for Kids, will see volunteers pack nearly 3,000 backpacks at Enbridge Gas Distribution on Schmon Parkway in Thorold.
The United Way says it received more requests for backpacks than ever this year.
They say its thanks to many individuals and organizations in the community that stepped up to help with donations to ensure all kids get off to a good start this year.
