Niagara police are investigating the theft of 40 aluminum beams from the Burgoyne Bridge construction site on Paul St. West in St. Catharines.
The beams measure more than 14 feet in length and 5 inches in height.
Each beam weighs about 50 pounds.
Police say the theft happened between Wednesday at 5 p.m. and Thursday at 6 a.m.
Police say the suspect entered the gated and locked compound where they spend a considerable amount of time dismantling four large metal prep platforms.
The beams are identified with blue and white stickers in the name 'Pro Forme' and 'Hi-Lite'.The stolen beams are valued at $20 000.
