Theresa Tam urging caution when reopening the border

Our country's top doctor weighing in on the opening of the Canada- U.S. border.

Theresa Tam is urging government officials to use extreme caution before lifting travel restrictions.

She says there has to be measures in place to track and contain anyone who may enter the country with the virus. 

Yesterday, the Prime Minister promised they will be very, very careful dealing with any increase in cross border traffic

The Premiers of Ontario, B.C. and Quebec have asked the PM to keep the border closed to non essential traffic for now.

The agreement to close the border expires next week.
