Plenty of free stuff to do on Family Day around Niagara.
Family and Children's Services is sponsoring free ice time at 10 local arenas.
There's free swimming at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre along with a pop up play tent and fun zone for the kids.
WinterFest runs in Niagara Falls from 11:00 to 3:00 at Heartland Forest Nature Experience where the whole family can hit the trails and enjoy a campfire.
New this year an owl specialist and an introduction to fairy gardens.
Admission is free.
There is also Family Fun Day at the Wellness Complex in Welland.
Kids can learn about dinosaurs and reptiles, join a DrumFIT demonstration, jump on the Giant Pirate Ship Inflatable or the preschool play zone.
The day runs from 10 am to 2 pm.
The Family Day holiday also means residents can expect the usual closures and reduced service levels around the Region.

- All LCBO and Beer Store locations will remain closed.

- Most grocery stores, retail businesses are closed.
- The Pen Centre and Fairview malls are both closed.
- Canada Post offices located in some retail outlets that will be closed for the day
