A third arrest has been made as Niagara Regional Police investigate alleged neglect and sexual abuse in Port Colborne dating back two decades.
The investigation began after a community services worker brought forward concerns of sexual assaults dating back 20 years.
Most of the offences are alleged to have happened while the victims were under the age of sixteen and the charges laid so far include incest and forcible confinement.
50 year old William Vorstenbosh of Port Colborne was arrested yesterday and is now also facing charges of sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a person with a disability.
He is due in court for a bail hearing today.
On June 25th police laid charges against a 55 year old man from Port Colborne. They include:
- six counts of sexual assault
- four counts of sexual interference
- four counts of sexual exploitation
- four counts of invitation to sexual touching
- sexual exploitation of a person with a disability
- three counts of incest
- four counts of corrupting children
- four counts of failing to provide the necessaries of life
- four counts of forcible confinement
- assault with a weapon
- four counts of assault
- uttering death threats
The 55 year old man's name is being withheld to protect the identity of the alleged victims.
A second man, 52 year old Gerald 'Butchy' Fleming, was arrested and charged on June 28th. He is facing charges of sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a person with a disability.
