Thorold residents are looking a 0.9 per cent increase on their local tax bill this year.
City Council approved their 2018 budget at a meeting Tuesday night.
The average homeowner, assessed at $236,000 will see their taxes go up $32 dollars.
“Keeping taxes low for our community while maintaining efficient service and asset sustainment were the main focus for Council. I am happy to announce that this year too, we were
able to achieve this. I would like to thank our Chief Administrative Officer, Director of Finance and to City staff for their diligent commitment, time and effort they invested into the preparationof the 2018 budget,” said Mayor Ted Luciani.
The total impact won't be known until the region finalizes their tax rates.
