Thorold city council will take another stab at adopting an exotic animal bylaw.
The move comes after someone broke into a Hansler Road home over the weekend and made off with several venomous snakes that were being bred for sale at the house.
In the past seven years, Thorold council has failed to bring in a bylaw to prohibit rural homeowners from keeping exotic animals.
The latest effort was in 2013 after an escaped alligator was struck and killed on Highway 20.
At their meeting Tuesday night, Thorold councillors instructing the city clerk to come up with a report on how to beef up the city's animal control bylaw.
