The Niagara Regional Police Service is proud to announce that His Excellency The Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada has announced that Acting Superintendent Cindy White, Civilian Director Video Unit Manager Jamie Saunders and Chief Jeffrey McGuire, O.O.M. will be recognized for their career long contributions to policing.
Established in October 2000, the Order of Merit of the Police Forces honours the leadership and exceptional service or distinctive merit displayed by the men and women of the Canadian Police Services, and recognizes their commitment to this country. The primary focus is on exceptional merit, contributions to policing and community development.
Acting Superintendent Cindy White and Civilian Director Video Unit Manager Jamie Saunders will be invested as a Member of the Order of Merit (M.O.M.). The M.O.M. recognizes exceptional service or performance of duty over an extended period, usually at the local or regional/provincial level.
Chief Jeffrey McGuire, O.O.M. was invested as a M.O.M. in 2011 and will now be invested as an Officer of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces. The Officer of the Order of Merit (O.O.M) of the Police Forces recognizes outstanding meritorious service in duties of responsibility over an extended period, usually at the regional or provincial level.

"We are proud to see them recognized for their commitment and dedication to policing services in our community, as well as at the provincial and national level, and having been recognized with this outstanding honour".
