Three officers were injured while on duty in three separate incidents.
Early this morning, an officer arrested a man for impaired driving after a report of an intoxicated male in the drive thru at a St Catharines' Mcdonalds. The supsect was put into a cruiser.
But police say the man feigned unresponsiveness and kicked at the officer when he checked on him, causing injuries that were treated by paramedics.
Last night around 7:30 an officer was attacked by a dog in the area of Fly Road in Grimbsy while following up on an earlier collision.
The dog latched onto the officer's leg. As he struggled he fell to the ground and injured his arm.
Around the same time, another officer was directing traffic at an accident scene at Ontario and Cecil streets in St. Catharines when he was struck by a vechile.
The driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The police officer was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for the injuries.
