Three young Niagara residents have been killed in a plane crash.
Pennsylvania State Police confirming the identities of three people killed when a plane headed to the Niagara District Airport crashed.
The Piper PA-28 took off from Richmond International Airport Sunday, but the FAA lost contact with the pilot after it veered around a thunderstorm in the area.
Searchers found the plane last night in rural Potter County, on the border with New York State.
There were three people on board the plane, including the pilot.
18 year old Corey Mijac and 19 year old Benjamin Jeffries are from St.Catharines and Niagara-on-the-Lake.
25 year old Rifat Tawfig was also on the plane, he is from Niagara Falls.
Mijac and Jeffries both recently graduated from Governor Simcoe High in St. Catharines.
Hundreds of condolences have been posted on social media.
