Police in Toronto say a tip from the US West Coast helped prevent an attack at a high school on the anniversary of the Montreal massacre.
Detective Len Nicholson says someone called the department about a threat they saw on a blogging site.
Police later identified the Toronto school that was targeted, and on Tuesday, arrested a 17-year-old boy after a search of a home netted a machete, a hatchet, two swords, four knives and some arrows.
The teen is charged with uttering threats of bodily harm and death.
Police say the attack was meant to happen later in the day on the 27th anniversary of a gunman's attack on Montreal's Polytechnique school that claimed the lives of 14 women.
