Today is Equal Pay Day, the day that highlights the wage differences that exist between men and women in the workforce.
The day was first marked in the U-S in 1996.
It's held every April to symbolize how far into the year women need to work to make what men did the previous year.
In 1963 women earned 59 percent of men's wages, by 2000, women earned 74 percent of men's wages.
In 2016, women earned about 83 cents for every dollar a man made.
