The DSBN asking students to put on an orange shirt today in honour of Orange Shirt Day.
The day recognizes the victims and descendants of residential schools in Canada.
The theme is Every Child Matters.
The day was started by Phyllis Webstad, who as a six year old was the third generation in her family made to attend a residential school.
On her first day, she was forced to take off the orange shirt she wore to school that day.
