The family of musician Tom Petty has issued a statement objecting to Donald Trump's campaign using his song "I Won't Back Down" at his rally in Tulsa last night.
A statement posted to the official Tom Petty Twitter page says "Trump was in no way authorized to use this song to further a campaign that leaves too many Americans and common sense behind."
The statement added, "Both the late Tom Petty and his family firmly stand against racism and discrimination of any kind," and that Petty "would never want a song of his used for a campaign of hate."
The Petty family has issued an official cease and desist notice to the Trump campaign.
