St.Catharines is raising money for homelessness through Toque Tuesday dine.
Mayor Walter Sendzik host's the annual pancake breakfast February 6th at Market Square from 7-9 am.
Ranging from $15-20, there's toques, socks and ball caps available to buy.
Along with your clothing purchase you're invited to eat some pancakes and sausage.
All proceeds going to the housing help program at Community Care.
But it's not about the toques, it's putting an end to homelessness.
Executive director of community care Betty Lou Souter mentions that it's quite often homeless people get judged.
"It's a very enlightening day, and it just proves once again that we do live in a wonderful city, and it's a compassionate city, as Mayor Sendzik has said so many times."
She also mentions this drills home the importance of having an understanding of people and recognizing that these people do live in our community.
This is the 18th Toque Tuesday breakfast in our community.
It has grown to be one of the biggest events in conjunction with Toque Tuesday across Canada.
St.Catharines transit buses will be free for the entire day.
Sendzik invites residents to join him for breakfast in a video posted to his Youtube channel below.
