The torch has officially been passed to Niagara as the Canada Games wrap up in Alberta.
More than 3,600 athletes competed in Red Deer over the last two weeks.
Regional Chair Jim Bradley and Host Society Board Chair Doug Hamilton were in Alberta for the closing ceremonies on Saturday.
Previously, Hamilton told 610 CKTB construction for the new facilities required to host the games should begin in November.
The games comes to Niagara in August of 2021.
