Road tolls on the Gardiner and Don Valley Parkway are a step closer to becoming a reality.
After seven and a half hours of debate and one hour of voting Toronto city council has said yes to the tolls.
The province must still approve the plan, but in the meantime, city staff will now spend the next six months figuring out how tolling will work, including how much it will cost.
Mayor John Tory has proposed a $2.00 toll in each direction.
