A Toronto fire captain who went missing after vanishing from a New York state ski slope and then surfaced days later in California is back home.
The president of the union representing Toronto firefighters confirms Constantinos Filippidas is back on Canadian soil.
Frank Ramagnano says Filippidas stopped in Lake Placid to talk to police first.
Police say he couldn't give them many details about his cross country journey that ended at an airport in Sacramento when he called his wife.
It's still believed he hitched a ride in a transport truck.
