The Toronto Real Estate Board says people who put off home purchases following government moves to cool over-heated sales have re-entered the market.
The board says residential home sales in the Greater Toronto Area were up 18.6 per cent in July compared to the same month last year -- while the average price was up 4.8 per cent to
782-thousand-129 dollars.
Detached homes sold in Toronto were the most expensive, with an average price of just over 1.35-million dollars.
New listings for the month were down by 1.8 per cent year-over-year.
