The Toronto Police Service says it's investigating after a video posted online appears to show two of its off-duty officers breaching Ontario's stay-at-home order.
Police in Aylmer, Ont., say they were called to a local church on Tuesday night to investigate a large public gathering in violation of the province's current emergency orders.
The four-minute video shows four people confronting two Aylmer police officers in the parking lot of Church of God Restoration.
During that confrontation, two of the congregants lecture the Aylmer officers on procedure and refer to their own decades of experience as police officers.
A statement issued by Aylmer police says a 42-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman from Toronto were charged under the Reopening Ontario Act following the incident.
Aylmer police Chief Zvonko Horvat confirms that two off-duty officers were charged and their police force has been informed of the charges.
