A Toronto woman is facing smuggling charges after she was stopped at the Peace Bridge with $37,000 in cash hidden on her body.
It happened on Janaury 25th
Niagara Falls Review reports that the woman told border guards she was coming into Buffalo for a few days to shop.
When asked how much money she was travelling with, she toldĀ them about $5,000.
A further search revealed she was carrying $37,000 in U.S cash around her waist and pants.
The woman also had a list of names and money wire transfer locations in the Buffalo, N.Y. area.
Forty-two-year old Liliya Dzyuba of North York is charged with bulk cash smuggling.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
