A new report has good news for Niagara's tourism industry.
According to the inaugural Niagara Tourism Profile, tourists sunk $2.4 billion into our economy in 2017.
Manager of Economic Research and Analysis with the Niagara Region Blake Landry says the report also contains encouraging employment statistics. "from 2011-2018 we have seen about 18% job growth or over 6,000 jobs in tourism compared to about 14% growth over all sectors of Niagara's economy."
Americans tend to spend the most money during their visits but Landry says most overseas visitors are typically staying in Toronto and just making day trips to Niagara.
