The head of Toys R Us Canada says despite the company's financial problems none of their 83 locations in this country, including the one in St. Catharines, will close.
The statement comes on the heels of a decision by the chain's parent company to close 180 stores in the U-S.
The retailer, which has been operating under bankruptcy protection, hopes the move will help it weather the financial storm.
Toy R Us Canada president Melanie Teed- Murch says in a memo " we will be taking additional steps to improve the overall customer omnichannel experience with compelling promotions, continued improvements to mobile and digital marketing and enhancements to our baby registry and loyalty programs."
