Hundreds of vehicles jammed Safari Road in Millgrove, just outside Hamilton, over the weekend, as people stopped to snap a picture of hundreds of bright yellow sunflowers.
Artists and photographers have been going to the area for years, to snap pics of the flowers in full bloom at Bogle Seeds, the largest grower of sunflowers in the province.
The problem is the farm is right at the corner of Highway 6 North, and police fear for motorists safety.
Police say people were parking on the shoulder of the busy highway and walking across several lanes of traffic to get to the farm.
Police ended up at the farm all weekend trying to control traffic.
Bogle Seeds ended up putting a notice on its website yesterday that readsĀ "Unfortunately, with the POLICE involved, we have had to close the photo opportunities due to the traffic jam which occurred on Saturday July 28!"
