One of Habitat for Humanity Niagara's build trailers has been stolen from the Fonthill ReStore.
Just a week before Christmas, video shows the thief breaking into the parking lot, hooking up the trailer to his black pick-up truck, and driving away.
The trailer was purchased for the charity in 2016 through the support of the Rotary Clubs of Welland and Fonthill.
“It’s disheartening that someone would target an organization dedicated to helping others,” said Mark Carl, Habitat Niagara CEO. “Losing a vital piece of equipment like this trailer will undoubtedly impact our ability to carry out essential work in supporting the community.”
Local authorities have been contacted and are actively investigating the theft.
The trailer was wrapped in Habitat branded images with the license plate number W26 36M.
If you have any information about the stolen trailer, please contact the police at 905-735-7811.
