It's going to cost more to take a bus in Welland.
City council approving a fare hike for the city's transit system that will see the cost of riding a bus, climb 25 cents to $3.00 starting next month.
On the plus side Saturday service hours will be extended and Sunday service will be reinstated as part of a pilot project.
Transit Manager Alfred Stockwell says the cost is comparable to fares charged in St. Catharines and Niagara Falls.
