There are new safety concerns in the sky.
New numbers from Transport Canada show there have been increasing number of close calls between planes and drones.
In fact it works out to more than one a week.
The federal agency says there were 33 incidents involving a drone and crewed aircraft in Ontario between January 1st and June 30th.
Fifteen of the incidents were in June alone.
Transport Canada defines an "incident" as a conflict that "poses a risk to aviation safety."
But what's not known is if there are more close calls or reporting of the incidents has improved.
Fortunately, there has only been one collision, which happened two years ago in Quebec.
