It was just a few months ago, animal welfare officials were called in to rescue a coyote trapped behind a construction barrier on a St. Catharines highway, and its happened again, but this time in Burlington.
People out walking waved down Hamilton police marine unit officers after they spotted a coyote stuck along the Burlington Canal on Sunday.
The canine had wedged itself between the canal wall and a ladder that leads down to the water.
With temperatures well below freezing, the coyote's fur ended up frozen to the concrete wall because of the spray from the water.
Animal control workers were called in an freed the animal who appeared none the worse for wear.
