Good news from John C. Munroe Airport in Hamilton.
The airport releasing new stats yesterday that show the number of people flying out of the facility has more that doubled this year.
For the first six months of the year, close to 260 thousand people flew out of the airport, a whopping 127 percent increase over the same time last year.
About 10 percent hail from Western New York, reversing the trend of travellers from Southern Ontario who fly out of Buffalo because of cheap flights.
Five passenger carriers operate out of Hamilton, including, Flair, Air Canada, WestJet, Air Transat and Sunwing Airlines.
