The trial of Nathaniel Veltman, the man accused of killing four members of a Muslim family, is now in the hands of the jury.
However, from alternate attack targets and extreme views on many populations to a near-resignation from a defence lawyer, there was plenty the jurors were barred from hearing.
Ultimately, the jury did not hear everything that Veltman told police after the attack.
That includes Veltman talking about his hatred not only for Muslims but also for members of the L-G-B-T-Q-Plus community.
Prosecutor Jennifer Moser said he also spoke in his police interview of his extreme views against COVID-19 restrictions and vaccines _ which the jury did not hear about.
Moser said the redacted parts of Veltman's statement show he was not a young man influenced by the internet to kill Muslims but in fact a terrorist with far-right white nationalist ideology.
Still, Justice Renee Pomerance told jurors yesterday that they are ``the judges of the facts'' in the case -- adding that there will be no more evidence.
