It will be a week of heart wrenching victim impact statements as the truck driver responsible for the Humboldt Broncos bus crash is in court for a sentencing hearing.
The April 6th crash killed 16 people and injured 13 more.
The family of Ryan Straschnitzki, a player on the junior hockey team who was paralyzed from the chest down in the crash, won't be attending the hearing.
His mother Michelle says being there would be too emotionally draining for her son -- but she did write a victim-impact statement on behalf of her family aimed at the driver from Calgary who has pleaded guilty to all dangerous driving charges he faces in the deadly crash.
She says she understands Jaskirat Singh Sidhu feels remorseful for his actions, but she is unable to find forgiveness for a man who destroyed 30 families.
