President Donald Trump is accused of adding fuel to the fire as anti racism protests continue across the U.S. following the death of a Minneapolis man in police custody.
During an address in the Rose Garden yesterday evening, the President threatened to deploy the military unless states call in the National Guard in sufficient numbers to "dominate the streets."
Trump says mayors and governors must establish an overwhelming law and order presence until the violence is quelled.
Trump event went so far as to refer to himself as the President of Law and Order.
The President made the announcement as police under federal command, lobbed tear gas canisters, at peaceful protestors across from the White House in order to clear a path so Trump could walk to a nearby church and pose with a Bible.
Despite an increased National Guard and police presence in many states, the violent protests continued last night with law enforcement the target of several incidents.
Two Buffalo cops were run down by an SUV, an officer was shot in Las Vegas, four officers were struck by gunfire in St. Louis and there was widespread looting in New York city despite an 11 o'clock curfew.
