President Trump is refusing to back down on a plan to impose stiff tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.
In a tweet last night, Trump said the industries are dead, "Sorry it's time for a change".
Canada is trying to get an exemption from the new tariff but the White House says at this point no country will be excluded.
The move could affect up to 40,000 direct and indirect steel industry jobs in the Hamilton area.
The Toronto Star is reporting this morning, former Trump advisor Carl Icahn sold his steel linked stocks weeks before Trump made the announcement.
