In Saturday morning tweet, US President Trump says "there is no political necessity to keep Canada in the new NAFTA deal," and if no deal is reached, "Canada will be out," and warns US Congress not to interfere with the negotiations or, he asserts, he will "simply terminate NAFTA entirely."
Trump had previously set Friday as the deadline for the United States and Canada to reach a deal, however negotiations are now set to resume on Wednesday after the long weekend.
Canada's chief negotiator, Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland, says the U-S has been flexible and has negotiated in good faith.
That, despite the U-S president telling the Bloomberg service that the U-S would get an agreement entirely on their terms.
